The We Care event is put on every year by Herman Miller and the Boys and Girls Club in Denver to celebrate the holidays and give back to the community. With roughly 400 kids, each design firm comes up with a craft that the kids can make as a gift for their loved ones during the holiday season. Each year about 20 design firms participate and each child is able to choose 5 crafts to make. This year SLATERPAULL HCM made snow globes using mason jars, glitter, small figurines and water. The kids absolutely loved the craft! We were a little worried that the tree figurines were turning the water blue, but the kids were all about the blue water and kept asking how does it turn blue. Our answer was of course MAGIC water! We made over 200 snow globes and ended up running out just before the end of the night. We love volunteering for this event as it is a great way to connect with the community and be creative with the kids at the same time!
To raise money for the event, the We Care team puts on a bake sale at the office and we were able to raise $307 for supplies! This event is really only possible with the help of the entire firm and their generosity and time to support this event. We could not do it without our team!
Each year every firm votes for their favorite craft of the night with the award of “Designer’s Choice”. This year SLATERPAULL HCM took home the title! Herman Miller graciously donates a Herman Miller Spun Chair to the winner. The team had so much fun, the kids had a great time and can’t beat coming home with the designer’s choice award!
