The project began by listening to the needs of the client to identify site, renovation, and building improvement priorities for this four-building complex. A master plan was completed with the primary goal of creating one building out of the complex. The new addition, which houses an exercise room, a fitness studio, community rooms, and new locker rooms, connects the existing 50-meter indoor pool and the full court basketball gymnasium. The new recreation center is a community hub, providing the residents of Lakewood with a full-service recreation facility.
