First Congregational Church

Size: 30,000 SSF

Scope: Master Plan and Facility Design

Location: Boulder, CO

Budget: $6.75 million (Phase 1 & II)

Organized in 1864, the First Congregational Church of Boulder is Colorado’s oldest existing Congregational Church. The Gothic-revival structure was dedicated in 1909 and designated a historical landmark in 1975. With a growing congregation and aging building systems, several phases of work have been completed to respond to the need for restoration and expansion of the facility, including the replacement of classroom and administrative spaces, a new chapel, and a connection between the new classroom building and the historic sanctuary.
